Robert Destefano, age 56 of Lexington, Kentucky, was tragically killed while riding his motorcycle. This fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Clark County, Kentucky on U.S. 60 between Winchester and Lexington, after a car failed to yield the right-a-way. The car that struck Mr. Destefano’s motorcycle was attempting to turn left across traffic into the Sky-Vue drive-in theater when it crossed the path of and collided with the motorcycle. The Destefano family and his Estate will be able to make a wrongful death claim from this accident, and seek to recovery damages from the accident and loss of life.

A Kentucky single car accident has injured the driver and killed the passenger. The accident occurred on Tuesday night June 21, 2011 on Ky 167 in Wayne County, Kentucky. Wayne County is closely located near Lake Cumberland. The single vehicle crash involved a 1996 Jeep, traveling south bound on Ky 167, and driven by 82 year old John Warner of Moticello, Kentucky. It is reported that the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. John Warner was hospitalized due to his injuries. The passenger in the vehicle, Ida Warner, age 63, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.

A Campbellsville, Kentucky woman is dead after a auto accident, and the driver, who was drunk at the time of the crash, has been charged with murder. The drunk driving accident occurred on Spurlington Road in Taylor County around 8:40 pm. William Mayes, age 29, was driving a 1993 Ford escort when he lost control of the vehicle, ran off the road, and struck a tree. Bethany Mann, age 30, was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor County law enforcement alleges that Mr. Mayes was intoxicated while driving and arrested him after the collision. Ms. Mann’s family will have a wrongful death claim against Mayes and his insurance company to recovery for their loss and the damages her Estate has suffered.

Tuesday afternoon on US 26 in McCreary County, Kentucky, a fatal auto accident occurred. Anthony & Nena Johnson, of Pine Knot, were traveling north on US 27 and attempted to pass another vehicle. In doing so, the Johnson’s Ford Expedition crashed head-on with a pickup driven by Ronald Capehart, of Knoxville. Nena Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr. Johnson and Mr. Capehart were both hospitalized with serious injuries. This is a tragic event which leave the injured and there families looking to see who will take care of the damages suffered from this accident.

A Kentucky car accident has killed two and injured one. The accident occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway and was a single vehicle accident. The car was driven by Rose Davis of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the accident happened after the Chrysler 300M Ms. Davis was driving left the roadway and then over compensated to correctly get back on the road. The over compensation resulted in crossing both lanes and hitting a tree. The driver, Ms. Davis, suffered serious injuries, and two passengers, Yolanda Davis and Marion Petrie reportedly died from the injuries from this car wreck.

Even in single car accidents, the passengers can still seek to recovery the damages they have suffered, being medical bills, pain & suffering, and lost wages. Another Kentucky person dies from a May 25th car crash that occurred in Versailles, Kentucky. The auto accident originally occurred when Cody Doan reportedly ran a red light and struck the side of a vehicle driven by the Mr. and Mrs. Drury. Barbara Drury died at the scene of the accident. A car has hit a boy in Elizabethtown, Kentucky while the child was riding his bike. The 9 year old boy was riding on Colesburg Road in E-Town when a car driven by a 29 year old man stuck the child. The child was taken to Jewish Hospital and then transferred to Kosair Children’s Hospital for medical care to his head and leg. In cases where bike riders, even children, are hit by cars, there are multiple sources of recovery for injuries and damages suffered by the bike riders. Those sources include the motor vehicle driver’s insurance, the bike riders insurance, and the auto policies of those residing in the household of the injured bike rider. This is important because injuries suffered by bike riders by car drivers can be severe. On Saturday, an auto accident occurred on Six Mile Lane. The accident happened after a driver of a rented 2011 Lincoln Town Car, that was traveling southbound, left the roadway and then overcompensated back onto the road, crossing into the lane of on coming traffic, and hit a late model Lincoln Town Car head on. The driver of the 2011 rented Lincoln briefly spoke with some witnesses after the car crash, but the fled the scene of the accident. Police are still searching for this person.

The motor vehicle crash injured 4 of the 5 people in the older model Lincoln. One adult was taken to University Hospital and three children were taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital. One of the children was suffering life threatening injuries and had to under go immediate surgery. This is a clear case of the driver of the 2011 Lincoln, who fled the scene of the accident, being at fault in this wreck. This car accident is being classified as a hit and run crash. In accidents that involve hit and run drivers, the injured persons should look to their own insurance policies for immediate recovery of damages from this accident, which will include medical bills, pain & suffering, and lost wages. Once the driver who fled the accident scene is located, the injured persons and children can seek recourse and damages recovery against his insurance company also. Cases involving serious injuries and hit and run drivers can be complicated insurance matters, which require looking into all potential sources of damage recovery.

A two car accident early Thursday morning has resulted in one death and two persons injured. Barbara Jeffries, age 54, was a Jefferson County Public School bus monitor. She was driving a Chevy Cobalt northbound on the Greenbelt when the car she was driving collided with a Ford Taurus that was attempting to turn left onto Trade Port. Jefferies was taken to UL hospital where she died. The two men in the Taurus were also taken to the hospital with injuries. The car crash is presently under investigation.

This auto accident could result in a wrongful death suit by Jeffries Estate and suit by the passenger of the Taurus against the driver of the Taurus, or personal injury claims by the two persons in the Taurus against Jeffries Estate. The Injured passenger from the Taurus, will have a claim for damages, even if from teh Driver of the Taurus. Fault in this auto accident will depend upon the findings of the Police investigation. At first glance, based upon the Taurus turning left, it would appear that the driver of the Taurus will be found to be at fault for this accident. However, it is important to have a good accident re-constructionist examine this crash scene to be sure that all evidence is preserved and a full understanding of what happened is determined.
